5:05 am
around the block but no prospero test tours this hour. that was a situation tomorrow that we are dealing with at this hour. now the supreme court will be hearing oral arguments from both sides of doma and a ruling is not expected until june. we spoke with a man from san francisco. he said the current language in the defense of marriage act is unconstitutional. >> if california says or if new york says or d.c. says you are married and the federal government steps in and says sorry, you're not. >> reporter: the doors to the supreme court open in 30 minutes and people are already in line waiting to get inside. and then the oral arguments are scheduled to get under way at 7:00 a.m. pacific and they will last until about 9:00 a.m. pacific. of course we have team coverage out here this morning. we'll be checking in with you every hour. for now we are reporting live in washington kyla campbell ktvu channel 2 news. >> as kyla told you the oral

they arnine to 12 feet long. very, very big. actually 9-17 feet. they were produced in the united states and at this point all indications are that hydrogen is to flame blame. that hydrogen got into the metal blakeing that metal brittle and causing those to snap. these were all done in 2008 and bought in 2008. so the idea is that the whole batch may be bad. but it is calling the commission to look at everything that came in that batch. in that shipment and they may lead up to 300 bolts that need to be replaced. so that is the issue this morning. they are trying to figure out how wide spread this problem is. it looks like they will have to do testing of all the other materials. they say it's not very complicated but they have to go through and it's the materials to see if there is a presence of hydrogen in those other bolts and other materials and they'll know if they have to
